MSC is excited to participate in the 136th Canton Fair in Guangzhou, a key platform for international trade cooperation that fosters business connections and friendly exchanges between China and the world. The world’s largest container shipping company will be present at all three phrases: 15-19 October, 23-27 October, and 31 October-4 November, at booth DT1815-17, of the China Import and Export Fair Complex.
Our experts from Switzerland and Greater China will be on hand to discuss how MSC's extensive global network and digital solutions can unlock new opportunities for collaboration and growth in China-Africa trade.
Continuous Commitment to Connecting China with Africa and Beyond
China and Africa play pivotal roles in the global economy, with trade between the two regions demonstrating robust growth. In the first seven months of 2024, China's trade volume with Africa reached 1.19 trillion yuan, both a 5.5% increase and a record high for this period1.
To accelerate business growth for our customers, MSC offers transportation services and solutions that connect China with Africa and beyond, including:
- Seamless trade services from China to Africa: MSC has consistently strengthened its network, with services such as the Africa Express and Ingwe that directly connect major ports in China, with those in West and South Africa. In the first half of this year, MSC also launched the Dar Es Salaam Express connecting Asia and East Africa, providing customers with more shipping options into Africa.
- Inland solutions in Africa tailor-made to your needs: Beyond port-to-port solutions, we provide a one-stop shop service for your inland shipping needs, including trucking. Africa Global Logistics (AGL) is a leading multimodal logistics operator and is part of the Cargo Division of the MSC Group.
- Digital business solutions enhancing safety, efficiency and sustainability: MSC Smart Containers, for instance, provide 24/7 visibility of the cargo including real-time tracking of its location, ensuring integrity and security of the supply chain.
Collaborating for Growth while Strengthening Trade Connections
“The robust trade growth between China and Africa presents significant business opportunities. MSC’s ongoing participation in Canton Fair reflects our commitment to supporting our clients in seizing these opportunities while strengthening trade connections between the two regions. We look forward to collaborating with our clients to explore new avenues for their growth,” remarked Jonathan Zhu, Managing Director, MSC Greater China.
