Connecting Burundi to the world
MSC Bujumbura offers reliable and efficient shipping services to and from the Republic of Burundi designed to support a wide range of companies and industries.
Since Burundi is a landlocked country, the key gateways to Burundi are Kenya via Mombasa port and Tanzania via Dar es salaam port.
Moreover, the country has the largest dry port on Lake Tanganyika (followed by the ports of Mpulungu in Zambia, Kalémie in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Kigoma in Tanzania) at the crossroads of several transport corridors allowing it to play a transit role due to its strategic position in the EAC region.
Have a look at our in-depth country guide. It covers everything from general trade information to import and export procedures to ensure the smooth transport of your goods.
Detention and demurrage
Demurrage and detention is the charge applicable, after the free time expires, inside and outside the terminal. Please refer to local demurrage tariff circulation and notices.
For any assistance in guaranteed validation, kindly contact local office.
