MSC UK Announces Charity of the Year for 2024

18/03/2024

At MSC UK, our commitment to charitable giving is a core element of our team spirit and company culture. Every year, we open the floor to everyone at MSC UK inviting them to nominate a charity close to their hearts to support in the upcoming year. We encourage our employees to provide the reasons behind their nomination and any creative fundraising ideas they may have. The nominated charities go through a voting processby our staff and the top three choices—our gold, silver, and bronze charities—are selected and embraced by our team.

This year, we are proud to support St Elizabeth’s Hospice, as our Gold Charity of the Year for 2024. Nestled in close proximity to MSC UK's Ipswich head office, this remarkable organisation is committed to elevating the well-being of individuals impacted by challenging circumstances.

St Elizabeth's Hospice plays a pivotal role in our local community, tirelessly working towards enhancing the quality of life for those in need. Their dedicated efforts extend beyond conventional healthcare, providing compassionate support, and creating a positive impact on the lives of many.

We are honoured to align ourselves with St Elizabeth's Hospice and contribute to their meaningful initiatives as we embark on a year of partnership dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our neighbours.

In addition, we are also delighted to announce we are supporting Alzheimer’s Society and Stroke Association (our silver and bronze charities) who also make a huge contribution to the local community.Alzheimer’s Societyundertakes vital research and provides much needed support for those affected by Alzheimer's and Dementia. The Stroke Association helps to provide specialist care to help rebuild lives after they have been affected by a stroke.

David Woolnough, MSC UK Finance Director added -“As a family company, we care strongly for our local community and I’m very proud of our staff members, who through our charitable initiatives, have raised around £500,000 over the last 10 years into our staff’s chosen charities”.
