Cashew Nut Season Is Back Again – Get Ready with MSC
11/03/2019
Cashews are an excellent source of several vitamins and minerals, and have an unmistakable shape. Best of all, they have a buttery, sweet and salty taste which makes them the world’s favourite nut – as a snack, added to salad or stir-fry.
West Africa is by far the largest supplier of cashew nuts with more than 1.6 million tonnes exported in 2018 to strengthen its position to account for nearly 80% of total world exports. For many countries on the West African coast, cashews have become the second most important commodity to be exported, with much of the demand in Asia.
As a world leader in global container shipping, MSC prides itself on offering global service with local knowledge for the safe transportation of this special cargo, ensuring it arrives at its destination in good time and in the best possible condition.
Taking your cashews around the world
MSC offers strong intermodal services from the main exporters to the main importing countries. Complementing the global port coverage and regional feeder service, we connect the major commercial hubs by truck, rail and barge – in short: your cashews are in safe hands from the collection point to the point of delivery.
In Africa, MSC is present in over 40 countries, with offices in Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Ghana – some of the major export countries. We connect the main exporters in West Africa to importers in Asia, offering direct calls and frequent sailings.
