Empowering Tomorrow: MSC Greater China Transforming Children’s Lives

Commemorated annually on the 1st of June in China, MSC is pleased to be extending its heartfelt wishes this Children’s Day, to honor the importance of holistic development and the well-being of every child.

In Greater China, we recognize children as the future of the world and seek to address social challenges to enable a brighter future for this next generation of leaders. Our offices across Greater China have been actively supporting causes to advance the rights and capacity building of children, particularly those from an underprivileged background.

Holistic Education for Children in Rural Chongqing to Enable to Colourful Future

In Chongqing, MSC Greater China has been partnering with Chongqing Xing’an Foundation since 2023, to improve holistic education in elementary schools located in the rural and underdeveloped parts of the municipality. These include arts, music and physical education that might not be as accessible for children living in these areas.

Under the Colourful Future Education Project,MSC Greater China has been sponsoring and supporting five volunteer teachers from three primary schools, benefiting over 700 young students from the age of six to twelve.

Ms. He Juan, Secretary General of Chongqing Xing’an Foundation said, “Together with MSC, the Colourful Future Education Project has empowered rural children to grow with confidence and optimism by providing them with quality all-rounded education.”

MSC Hong Kong's Commitment to Girls' Rights and Education Makes Global Impact

Similarly, MSC Hong Kong has been promoting education, gender equality and the human rights of young girls via a longstanding partnership with Plan International since 2016. Through the Donate a Pencil project, MSC Hong Kong has been aiding young girls worldwide in breaking the cycle of poverty by enabling access to continuous education through stationery donations. At the same time, they have participated in nine consecutive years of Run for Girls, a charity run to free girls in developing countries from child marriage.

As an Annual Platinum Partner of Plan International, MSC Hong Kong has also continuously collaborated with its stakeholders to advance equality for girls, making a positive impact to over 7 million girls worldwide.

Bringing Hope to Children and Marginalised Families in Taiwan

Meanwhile in Taiwan, the MSC team and their families have been uplifting the lives of children and families in need. Their initiative includes organizing food drives, granting Christmas wishes of children from marginalised background, as well as advocating for greater awareness and support for them.
